ALEX H — WEBSITE DESIGN STUDIO

Websites with
a point of view.

Most small businesses don't need a bigger website. They need one that sounds like them, looks like them, and puts the menu, the hours and the phone number where a customer can actually find them. That's what this studio designs — one business at a time, never from a template.

Portfolio pieces are concept redesigns. Business names, menus and details are fictionalised; the design work is ours.

The Gilded Curtain

Playbill café website

The Programme menu, printed in acts beside a breakfast-table photograph

A breakfast café next to a theatre, designed as the morning's programme: a bulb-lit marquee header, the menu printed in acts, and table photographs framed by curtains. The site turns a morning visit into a small performance.

  • Ink
  • Marquee gold
  • Curtain red

Type: slab poster display, condensed billing, italic serif quotes.

Harbour & Ledger

The Manifest tavern menu with ruled ledger entries, aligned figures and food photographs

A warehouse tavern on a river, designed as its own bill of lading: ruled ledger lines, menu figures in columns, rubber stamps for the facts that matter, and a slow boat crossing the header. Bookkeeping, but make it appetising.

  • Ledger cream
  • Ember
  • River green

Type: slab headings, script wordmark, monospaced figures.

The Blue Cup

Display-case café website

2026

The Display Case menu arranged on lit shelves with handwritten cake tags and a pastry photograph

A cake café whose menu lives in a glass case, so the website became the case: lit shelves, handwritten tags, and the blue stoneware cups promoted to brand colour. Everything on display, nothing hidden behind a PDF.

  • Ceramic blue
  • Case teal
  • Plaster cream

Type: elegant serif display, friendly sans, handwritten tags.

Farm-kitchen menu with a dark chalkboard heading and handwritten category boards

  • Sage
  • Pine
  • Harvest gold

Type: old-style serif, condensed sign lettering, handwritten notes.

  1. The finished design

Your concept, finalised: every section polished, on your own domain.

  2. Everything a customer looks for

Menu with prices, photos, reviews, live open/closed hours, tap-to-call and directions.

  3. Found on Google

Page titles, descriptions and listing details set up properly from day one.

  4. Visitor statistics

So you can see how many people your site brings in.

  5. Two revision rounds

Text, photos and layout adjusted until it sounds like you.

  6. Yours, entirely

The domain, the accounts and the site are registered to you. No lock-in, ever.

One package, everything above. Pricing is quoted per project after a short conversation — in writing, with no surprises.

  1. Look

We study your business, your customers and what's broken today.

  2. Sample

You see a free concept sample of your new site before paying anything.

  3. Refine

Two rounds of revisions with your real photos, menu and prices.

  4. Launch

Live on your own domain, typically within 7–10 days of the deposit.

Two cafés on the same street should not look like cousins.

Every site here started from the business itself — its sign, its menu, its room, its regulars — and from references gathered for that project alone. If a design could belong to any business, it belongs to none of them, and it doesn't ship.
